This is why we offer several consultation options for new clients to book, so that we can engage in the most meaningful way, right from the start!
After you’ve met Heidi on your free discovery conversation (virtually), the next step is to book a consultation, where we’ll come meet you at your home and get started.
We have three different consultation types:
a color consultation
a design consultation
a project consultation
We hope this post helps you understand the differences between the three.
A Color Consultation
Color Consultations are all about PAINT!
As a Certified True Color Expert, Heidi Reece can walk into any room, and distinguish what works and what doesn’t work about the undertones throughout the space, and confidently make recommendations that will revitalize the look and feel. If you are ready to invest in painting your home, it’s so important to identify the right color for your space before investing in paint and covering your walls.
A Color Consultation is for you if: you know you’re going to paint some walls and surfaces, and you understand the importance of getting the color just right. *If you’re also going to replace any flooring, countertops, wallpaper or large furniture pieces, you’ll want to make sure to have your new finish samples in hand at your Color Consultation. If want our help with other exciting changes in your home, a Design Consultation or a Full-Service Design Project might be the best way for you to engage with Indigo.
What we’ll bring: color kit chock full of large format color boards from our favorite paint suppliers.
What we’ll do: True Color Expert Heidi Reece will come to you to select paint colors for the walls and surfaces you desire to change.
What we’ll deliver: At the end of your color consultation, you’ll receive a Color Spec Folio including precise color recommendations for each surface of the space discussed — everything you need to hand to your painter to get the job done.
A Design Consultation
Design Consultations are all about DESIGN DIRECTION!
A skilled Interior Designer can help you save costly mistakes when it comes to creating a new space or changing the look in your home. We are available every step of the way, and that starts with dreaming up a new vision for your home and getting all the ideas out!
A Design Consultation is for you if: you’re ready to make some major changes to your home but you are feeling uninspired, stuck or overwhelmed. You want to bring in Indigo designers for ideas, recommendations, and direction to help you jumpstart your project.
What we’ll bring: our expertise and ideas, plus notepads for taking lots of notes.
What we’ll do: This is where the ideas come out! At your consultation, we will come to you and explore your space, and for two hours we will talk in great detail about you and your needs, and share ideas in real time so that you can implement these ideas and achieve the design of your dreams.
What we’ll deliver: After your design consultation, you’ll receive a Consultation Summary that includes thorough notes capturing the ideas that we came up with for your home as discussed at our visit. After this consultation, you can decide if you’ll manage the project yourself, or you can choose to bring us on board for a full-service interior design project, in which case the next step would be Project Kickoff and quote.
A Project Consultation
Project Consultations are all about DETAILS!
We are available every step of the way from dreaming to planning, shopping, renovating and installation. The project consultation meeting is the starting point for all full-service design projects – from bathrooms to kitchens to bedrooms to whole-home renovations.
A Project Consultation is for you if: You’re all set to work with Indigo on your full-service Interior Design Project and you’re ready to kick things off and dive into details.
What we’ll bring: our ideas, tape measures, and notepads for capturing all the details.
What we’ll do: This is the in-person kickoff! Where ideas come out and the real work gets going. At this one-hour consultation, we will come to you and explore your space, take lots and lots of measurements, talk in great detail about you and your needs, brainstorm ideas in real time, make lists and take lots of notes.
What we’ll deliver: After your project consultation, you’ll receive a Project Report that includes all the notes regarding the direction, projected timeline, scope of work, and design fee quote for your Interior Design Project or Whole Home Project.
Getting Started
It All Starts With A Meet-and-Greet Video Call
While the consultation options above are where a lot of the magic happens, you don’t need to book an at-home consultation just to meet us! Start by booking a simple conversation, where we will meet each other virtually to discover what you’re looking for and see if we’re a great fit for you. This 20-minute video call is simply a meet-and-greet and an introduction to your project before we schedule a consultation.
